Article Directory Submission Guide
If writing articles is something you’ve wanted to use to promote your website and market your products, then here are a few guidelines for writing articles that will prove to be worth the effort and your time. Your articles will open the door for plenty of traffic to your website and create back links that will certainly improve your ranking with search engines. Every article directory will have a set of rules to regulate and control the quality and quantity of articles they are prepared to accept and handle. Read the terms and conditions carefully and use these guidelines to help you win a spot on the first page of a search engine’s rankings and major traffic to your website.
The content of your article should always be original. You may not copy any content from the internet and use it as your own. If your article passes CopySpace, you can be sure it is safe to submit. CopySpace is software found on the internet where you can buy credits to check that your article is completely unique and new. This is a great tool to use especially when you spin your articles to create new articles from your original. You should also be warned that submitting the same article under a different username will only result in it being picked up as copied material.
Make sure your article is proofread by someone with some knowledge of the English grammar and language. One or two mistakes can still be tolerated, but an editor will very easily decline your article if the spelling is of poor quality, it contains many grammatical errors and is not informative. Don’t run the risk of having your articles sent back to you because the quality is not good. This gives you a poor reputation as a writer and is something you want to avoid at all cost.
Every one of your articles should be informative and make people want to read more of the same, especially if they are written by you. Gaining credit as a reputable writer is great for business and gets your articles published easier. Invent an easy writing style and avoid using too many literature correct words. Remember you are writing for ordinary people needing to understand what you are trying to say. Keep it simple, but with lots of information about the product or service and why everyone needs to buy from you. Avoid putting your competitors in a bad light with your readers and never use fowl language or promote violence, hatred, racism and illegal drug use or contain any political comments or ideas.
Never may your articles be sold to students as term papers or when quoting someone or something, be more than five lines of the quote. Quotes should always be in italics and start and end with quotation marks. You article may not be used to promote email lists, fraud or used for bulk email marketing.
The bio box of your article should contain your company’s name and web address to your company’s website where your products are advertised. Use keyword in your subject line and body of your article carefully and wisely so that you can optimize the use of any search engine finding your article.
The format used in your article is also very important. Refrain from putting the words of your title all in capital letters. Only the first letter of each word should be a capital letter and never words like “to”, “and”, “the” and “for”. Your title is the first impression of what your article will be about. Make sure it is a good description of your article and does not contain only a jargon or keywords.
Credit should always be given to the author of the article and this is usually done in the bio box at the bottom of the article. You can use your company’s name or your own name and only use your title if you are a Doctor, Professor or medical doctor. Make sure your bio box contains a link to your web address.
Articles can be any length from 250 – 5000 words, but the average article is usually around 250- 750 words long. This is the norm for most article writers. Articles that are too long without being repetitive can still qualify, but in most cases repeating the same thing over and over to get an impressively long article is a waste of your own time and that of the readers. Stick to the point of the article and when you run out of information, stop.
You may place tags in the body of you article, but not all article directory allow this. Make sure your submission service allows this before placing tags anywhere in your articles other than specified.
