When the fluid continues to fill the cyst, the walls of the sack weakens and ruptures.

With the help of ultrasound, the ovarian cyst can be detected. The fluid filled sacs look as tiny bubbles in the monitor of an ultra sound machine. Through its size, doctors will be able to determine if the cyst will rupture or not. When the cyst is larger than 5-6 centimeters, the wall surfaces of the sac will no longer hold the liquid within leading to what we call as a leak. The usual treatment for oversized cysts is laparoscopy.
